About
Emilio Halperin is a Mexican-American designer based in New York. He opened his interior and furniture design practice in 2024, after working for Billy Cotton and Suzanne Demisch (Demisch-Danant), as well for design studios in Copenhagen. The studio's work aims to blend the aesthetic philosophies of Latin American design focused on warmth, color, and texture, the Scandinavian approach of paring back and finding elegance in simplicity, and an American focus on craft, precision, and modernity.
As an interdisciplinary practice, the studio's interior design work aims to bridge the historical, architectural, and geographic context of each space with the client's needs to create balanced interiors that are elegant, modern, enduring, and familiar. Working closely with the contractors, millworkers, upholsterers and fabricators that bring projects to life, out goal is to design and execute projects in their totality.
The studio works on residential, commercial, and hospitality interior design alongside active collaborations in furniture, lighting and home goods design for large international companies, and a made-to-order collection of furniture and lighting currently on display in galleries in New York and Los Angeles.
